Bible prophecy calls for a Mesopotamian empire in the last days
“And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains (empires) on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen
1 Egypt
2 Assyria
3 Babylon
4 Medo-Persia
5 Grecia
one is
6 Rome
and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space
7 Islamic Caliphate
And the beast that was (past history) and is not (no longer exists as a king or empire during John’s time) , even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.”
This passage tells us that the beast that was before John’s time, “is not” or no longer exists during John’s time, is the 8th king and is of the seven. This is an empire that returns in the end times. This empire is symbolized by a “mountain” as mountains are used symbolically to represent biblical kingdoms. The text clearly says that the empire or kingdom to return is one that existed before the time the angel gives John the Revelation and that it no longer existed during that time which was the time of the kingdom that “is”, meaning the Roman Empire.
Jeremiah 51:24-25 tells us that Babylon in the land of the Chaldeans also known as Shinar in Hebrew and Mesopotamia in Greek will be destroyed by fire and God calls Babylon a “destroying mountain” which comes to destroy the earth.
In Daniel 2 we read that when the stone that comes out of heaven to strike the metal image, the gold, the silver, the brass, the iron and the clay are destroyed TOGETHER. This means that the head of gold which is Babylon which ruled over ancient Mesopotamia will again be the head of the empire of the end times ruling over the feet of iron and clay which came out of the legs of iron which history records as the Islamic Caliphate as Islam crushed the previous three kingdom of Daniel as required by Daniel 2:40:
And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others.
This was fulfilled by Islam as the Islamic Caliphate crushed the territory of the Babylonian, Medo-Persian and Grecian empires, something Rome was never able to do as history and any map will reveal.
We read in Micah 5:5-6 that the savior born in Betheleham (verses 1-2) comes to save Israel from the “Assyrian” and to destroy the “land of Nimrod.” This is none other the the Antichrist whom Jesus destroys. Genesis 10:8-11 tells us that the land of Nimrod was the cities he built in the land of Shinar and Nineveh in Assyria.
This land was known to the ancient Greeks as Mesopotamia. The ancient peoples of Mesopotamia worshiped a pagan deity called “SIN” known as a moon god. As the Mesopotamian empire is revived, it is controlled by a harlot religion called Babylon the Great because of her religious connection to ancient pagan Babylonian and Mesopotamian deities. It appears the text is referring to ancient history to show what will happen in the future — a Mesopotamian empire ruled by a religion whose deity is a “moon god” whose symbol is a crescent moon.
Do you see an empire currently being revived in the region of Mesopotamia which is controlled by a religion whose deity is the moon god and whose symbol is the crescent moon and star?
